Successful outcomes

Case studies

The residents living at Roborough House are supported to be as independent as they can and to continue to develop their skills and confidence. They are supported to follow their hobbies and interests as well as being encouraged to try new things. The service works with individuals to maintain or reach their personal goals, as a staff team we are able to adapt to individual preferences of need and support requirements. Residents and staff all work together to develop and agree individual plans that are tailored to their needs and wishes and we promote a very open and diverse culture, with opportunities for new experiences. The service has well established links with the local GP and pharmacies and has visiting physiotherapists, chiropodists, occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals by arrangement, as well as support from CareTech’s behavioural support team. We are also working closely with Plymouth Age Concern who are providing additional dementia training for staff and nurses. Additionally, we also have a strong link with the local Catholic Church, with the Priest visiting on a monthly basis. Roborough House has achieved many positive outcomes and successes over the years, including a number of individuals transitioning back into their own home. However, our main focus is to provide a warm and friendly home to those who live there and to maintain positive relationships with family and stakeholders.
